This afternoon I took a few photos of the campus of Oklahoma City Community College, the school where I teach. Classes are not in session yet, so the place was almost deserted.
I only had one camera, so I had to shoot the left and right views separately, which is a dangerous business, because absolutely nothing must move between the exposures. Fortunately, it was a calm, sultry day in Oklahoma City, with no wind to blow the trees around.
This is indoors; I was on the third floor, shooting down. I didn't realize until I got home that somebody was sitting in that chair. He moved his chair between my shots. D-oh!
I wouldn't call our campus ugly, but I might call it "unlovely." All those sterile edges and angles and corners and pointy bits resemble the set of a made-for-TV sci-fi movie. I played with the levels in this one to take it in a more fantastical direction. Oh, and speaking of direction, the clouds moved just a bit here, making them seem to come a lot closer. Cool.
This tree was uprooted by some construction work the college is doing. I made this one black and white, because it reminded me of the sort of thing khnemo does so well.
It was too difficult to get the levels correct for both the tree stump and the buildings, so for the last one, I just did the tree.
Yes, I know these problems caused by wind and clouds during stereophotography with a normal camera only to well. In the series of your Campus-pictures my favorite is the fourth. It’s really cool and looks like a picture of a science fiction movie, even without 3D glasses. By the way, I’m a teacher as well, and worked for many years as an art-teacher. -best wishes from Berlin… – khnemo
